A Month Without.....

For the new year, something I want to do to challenge myself is go a month without something. Each month I will be picking a different thing (mainly unhealthy items) to go without for the whole month. This month....my first challenge of the new year....is......a month without fast food!

And by "fast food" I mean anything that has a drive through window (with the exception of Starbucks;p). I am going to try hard to avoid fast food and enjoy making meals for lunch at work or planning dinners for my husband and myself.

We will see how this challenge goes but so far I have already wanted a greasy breakfast from McDonalds to cure my hangover from last night. Instead I am going to go into the kitchen and make some scrambled eggs. Go Protein!

First Walk Around the block

So I woke up this morning and decided I should get my berry-butt in gear and take a walk with my dog, Lucy. I laid in bed for about 20 minutes before I could convince myself enough that it was worth it. Boy am I glad I did! I was only gone for about 35 minutes, but that's better than zero minutes!

It was a rough walk/run. I ran a little bit in the beginning but soon realized that would not be a good idea since Lucy thought running meant a full out sprint while I attempted to hold on to her leash as she dragged me behind her! Towards the end of the walk/run I was able to jog without Lucy trying to rip off my arm.

Total this morning I did about 2 miles and now I feel energized for the day! I need to remember this feeling when I try to talk myself out of working out. Another bonus of the day.... I got to wear my new workout outfit from Christmas. I look more like a grape now but in a few months I will hopefully resemble an eggplant (more curvy than round)!

Becoming a Worthy Chivette

Ok, I signed up with this blog back in 2010 and never really had anything to write. I would randomly come on every once and a while and post something silly or weird. I had 10 posts since 2010! Not a great start to blog writing!

Well, I have now found something to blog about! Becoming a Chivette. Thechive.com and theberry.com are two wonderfully entertaining websites that my husband and I check out quite often. Most of the time the photos are odd, funny or interesting but some posts are more than that. TheBerry will do a daily "hotties" post with attractive males. TheChive does different posts throughout the week of all different kinds of lovely ladies. To truly understand what I am talking about you may just need to check out these websites for yourself.

As of right now I would not consider myself Chive-worthy. I know I am unhealthy and need to lose weight so this is my goal for the year and for my blog...to lose weight to become a Chivette and blog about it as I go.

I will be working on myself and updating my blog more frequently so as to stay motivated and to keep my followers (hopeful that I get some:P) up to date!
